Mary Castronuovo
President

Mary has served on the Board of Making Every Day Count, Inc. since 2017. Prior to serving as Board President, Mary served as our Chief Operating Officer, providing direct support to the Coordinators of Family and Delinquency Drug Courts. Mary also serves as a volunteer Guardian ad Litem for the 15th Judicial Circuit, representing the best interests of children in Family Drug Court. She is a retired educator with a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Studies. Mary is married to John Castronuovo and they are the proud parents of five adult children and the very Blessed Grandparents to Luca John.

Rodney Louis
Vice President

Rodney has served on the board of Making Every Day Count since 2019 and currently holds the office of Vice President.  Rodney is also currently serving as a board member for other Florida non-profits.  Having opened his home to children in the Palm Beach County foster care system for 12 years, Rodney has witnessed firsthand, the effect of Family Drug Court and Delinquency Drug Court on saving people’s lives and is proud to be able to support them through MEDC.  Rodney currently works as Sr. Risk Management Consultant and Dir. of Risk Management Services for the Gehring Group, Inc.

Dawn Ennis
Treasurer

Dawn is a CPA and Senior Manager with the public accounting firm Daszkal Bolton LLP.  She has served on the board of MEDC since 2017 and holds the office of Treasurer.  Dawn is a 2017 graduate of
Leadership Palm Beach County and is involved with several other non-profits.  She and her husband have deep roots in Palm Beach county and south Florida where they raised their two sons.​

Cathie Ryan
Secretary

Cathie has served on the Board of Making Every Day Count since 2014 and has held the office of Secretary since 2015. She has co-chaired the main MEDC fundraiser each year: The Annual Fall Luncheon and Auction. Cathie has also volunteered with various non-profit organizations in Palm Beach County.  Her professional background is in Employee Relations / Human Resources. She spent the majority of her career at American Airlines and subsequently worked in management consulting.

Martha Ahr
​

Martha Ahr has been a Guardian ad Litem in the 15th Judicial Circuit for 11 years. She is Co-founder of MEDC and served as its president for eight years. She has been the recipient of the Guardian of the Year Award and Florida’s Children First’s Child Advocate of the Year award. She has lived in northern Palm Beach County with her husband, Dr. David Ahr, for 46 years where they raised five children.

​Ron Alvarez

Ron is a retired Palm Beach County Circuit Court Judge. After 21 years on the Circuit Court, Ron retired and almost immediately joined the MEDC board in 2014. While on the bench, Ron was assigned to the juvenile court bench for 15 years. During these years, he oversaw the initial organization and implementation of the Palm Beach County Juvenile Drug Court, over which he presided until his retirement. Before his service on the circuit bench, he was a practicing civil trial attorney for 20 years. Presently Ron is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator with Matrix Mediation.

Denise Nagle
​

Denise has been on the board of MEDC since its inception, serving one year as Secretary. She continues to enjoy working with fellow board members in their effort to fulfill their mission of helping those who are involved with Family and Juvenile Drug Courts. Denise is a proud graduate of The University of Texas where she met Gary Nagle, her husband of 46 years. She is a former teacher and Volunteer Coordinator for the Office of Court Administration of the 15th Judicial Circuit in West Palm Beach. Presently she enjoys working as a floral designer and as a Florida State certified county court mediator.

Chris Ryan
​

Chris is the Executive Vice President of Human Resources at The GEO Group, Inc., and has served on the Board of Making Every Day Count since 2014. The GEO Group, Inc. has been a major sponsor at each of the MEDC annual fundraisers since 2014.  Chris also serves as Vice-Chair on the Board of Directors of The Open Door, a Palm Beach County charity.
