Rodney Louis
President Rodney has served on the board of Making Every Day Count since 2019 and currently holds the office of Vice President. Rodney is also currently serving as a board member for other Florida non-profits. Having opened his home to children in the Palm Beach County foster care system for 12 years, Rodney has witnessed firsthand, the effect of Family Drug Court and Delinquency Drug Court on saving people’s lives and is proud to be able to support them through MEDC. Rodney currently works as Sr. Risk Management Consultant and Dir. of Risk Management Services for the Gehring Group, Inc. |
David Ahr
Vice President David is a Wills, Trusts & Estates attorney in Juno Beach. He has been on the Board of Making Every Day Count since 2020, and currently serves as its Chief Operating Officer. David received his undergraduate degree in Finance from Boston College and his JD and LL.M (Taxation) degrees from The University of Miami School of Law. |
Martha Ahr
Chief Operating Officer Martha Ahr has been a Guardian ad Litem in the 15th Judicial Circuit for 11 years. She is Co-founder of MEDC and served as its president for eight years. She has been the recipient of the Guardian of the Year Award and Florida’s Children First’s Child Advocate of the Year award. She has lived in northern Palm Beach County with her husband, Dr. David Ahr, for 46 years where they raised five children. |
Dawn Ennis
Treasurer Dawn is a CPA and Senior Manager with the public accounting firm Daszkal Bolton LLP. She has served on the board of MEDC since 2017 and holds the office of Treasurer. Dawn is a 2017 graduate of Leadership Palm Beach County and is involved with several other non-profits. She and her husband have deep roots in Palm Beach county and south Florida where they raised their two sons. |
Suzanne Hasner
Secretary Suzanne serves on the board of Making Every Day Count, Inc. as Secretary, and co-chairs the annual luncheon and silent auction. As a third generation Floridian, Suzanne has a deep connection to her community and has worked throughout her career supporting local non-profit organizations. Suzanne currently works as a sales associate for Douglas Elliman where she has been part of The Bretzlaff Group for the past eight years. Prior to establishing her career in real estate, Suzanne was an educator for 15 years. She is a graduate of Florida State University with a degree in Economics, and earned a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Central Florida. Suzanne currently resides in Hobe Sound with her husband Mike and their two sons. |
Denise Nagle
Board Member Denise has been on the board of MEDC since its inception, serving one year as Secretary. She continues to enjoy working with fellow board members in their effort to fulfill their mission of helping those who are involved with Family and Juvenile Drug Courts. Denise is a proud graduate of The University of Texas where she met Gary Nagle, her husband of 46 years. She is a former teacher and Volunteer Coordinator for the Office of Court Administration of the 15th Judicial Circuit in West Palm Beach. Presently she enjoys working as a floral designer and as a Florida State certified county court mediator. |
James Cummings
Board Member Jim is a 41-year veteran of law enforcement, having retired from both the Boynton Beach Police Department and the Palm Beach County School District’s Police Department as a Major and staff executive. Major Cummings graduated from Barry University with his MSW in 1998, and has provided personal and institutional support for children, families, and emergency services personnel through his commitments to the School District’s Youth Court, Teen Drug Court, the 15th Circuit’s Juvenile Drug Court and Palm Beach County’s Critical Incident Stress Management Team (CISM). As a Clinical Social Worker and Police Officer, Major Cummings has had the opportunity to operate within varied systems to provide support, manage change, and create programs and processes that have assisted many individuals and organizations. James is also a High Liability Police Instructor and has provided training and instruction at the local, state, and national levels. |
Tony Nelson
Board Member Tony Nelson is the Chief Diversity Officer for Custodia Financial. He has had a long and impactful career in the insurance and benefits industry. Tony is also the owner of NFA Insurance Agency, Florida. In March 2023, Tony was recognized, along with 24 other executives from around the country, and presented with an award from the Defined Contribution Institutional Investment Association (DCIIA) as a Top Diversity Equity & Inclusion leader. Tony sits on the Employee Benefits Research Institute (EBRI) and Defined Contribution Institutional Investment Associations, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Executive Committees. Tony is also the Strategic Executive Director of the Wellington Athletics Community Sports Complex / Bostic Sports Academy. Tony has served on the following boards: President of the Wellington Boys & Girls Club Board of Advisors, Western Communities Football League (WCFL), Orange Bowl Committee for Youth Football and the Dorsainvil Foundation providing medical missions to Haiti. |
